There will never be anyone else quite like Pat Patterson. Every person should be so blessed to love so many aspects of life, friendship and family as Pat. His woodworking pieces, still grace our home his help and tips on gardening continue to help us grow vegetables every season and his tales of his work and travels will live on in pleasant memories. We want his family to know that Pat was one of the kindest, most warm, caring people this world has seen. A man of bountiful background and hobbies, he enthusiastically shared his wondrous knowledge on subjects from wood types to nuclear reactors. We were privileged to have lived next door to Pat and Vonceile for 11 years and to discover the blessing of caring, friendly neighbors. For that 11 years, whoever woke up first every day personally gathered the others newspaper from the driveway and walked it up to his neighbors doorstep. Through 11 years of conversation, neither of us mentioned this daily, silent gesture of reciprocal kindness, nor did we keep score it was simply enjoyed as being part of a bigger friendship. Our prayers and love to all of the family members. We share your loss and sadness, but we share your smiles at having Pat in our lives for so long.

Dear Patterson Family I am so sorry to learn of Pats passing. My husband and I and our 2 collies, lived next door to Pat and Vonceile for over 11 years. Im so glad we were able to have a quick visit with them when passing thru town just over 2 years ago. Here are some of my favorite and most treasured memories of dear Pat. 1. He always greeted me with a big smile in his bright red suspenders 2. He and my husband worked together for months crafting a beautiful Mahogany table for our Dinning Room 3. He taught us how to build, grow and nurture a 1st class vegetable garden 4. He loved my collies and ran interference when other neighbors tired of their barking 5. spending time in the carport with Pat and having him show me his latest creations. Pat never missed an opportunity to mention how much he hated the overgrown Pampas grass that grew between our yards. From the day we moved in until the time we moved out of State, Pat would jokingly think of clever ways to plow down the dreaded Pampas grass. Pat finally got his wish when new neighbors moved in : Pat and Vonceile were the best neighbors we ever had and we will miss them both.
