"But they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Thomas Burton Greer passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on November 3, 2017. Tommy, the first-born son of Paul Elijah and Claudia Netterville Greer, was born November 23,1922 in Glenmora, LA. He was a member of the "greatest generation,” having served as a naval pilot in WWII. In 1947, he married his sweetheart, Daisy Sexton, and they had two daughters. Tommy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man of integrity, ethics, hard work and few words whose love for family knew no limits. He worked as a mechanical contractor for 40 years and installed ac systems in many of the buildings on LSU's campus, Exxon and commercial buildings across the state until his retirement in 1986. After Daisy's death in 1986, he married Velma Ellis in 1989. They shared 19 years serving their church, working with Baton Rouge Music Chorus, cooking and spending time with their family.

Tommy is survived by his daughters, Cindy Greer Barrow (Ronald), and Tomi Greer Morton (Paul), and stepdaughter, Donna King (B.J.), five grandchildren: Lauren Barrow Carballo (Felix), Rachel Barrow Enlow (Jason), Jeff Morton (Jane), Betsy Morton, Emily Morton Melancon (Marcus), eight great grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, both of his wives, six siblings and two stepsons.

We would like to thank all of Dad's angels- his caregivers, who lovingly tended our dad through his illness, especially Vanessa, Tamika, Shawanda, Beverly, Rosa, Brenda and all of the staff at the Haven at Windermere.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 10:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Russel Greer, Cliff Persick, Thomas Greer, Joshua Greer, Jeff Morton, Jason Enlow, and Felix Carballo.
