A retired electronic technician and musician, he died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center. He was 62, a resident of Baton Rouge and at U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 1 p.m. until service in the chapel at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Collins. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Scottie O. McCarty; stepfather, Patrick Mallinson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and David Falgout, and Judy and Brad Pace; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Virginia Fisher; two sisters, Gisele VanDervort and husband Bob, and Marcelle Porter and husband Arthur; and four grandchildren, Philip Falgout, Andrew Fisher, Lyndon Pace and Brenna Pace. Preceded in death by his mother, Simone Mallinson; father, Ralph McCarty; and brother, Patrick McCarty. He was a ham radio operator with call sign KB5ICU and member of ARRL and NARC.
