"My Life's Purpose" By: Jennifer Doucet, For Lee Earl Townsend I was given a life to find a purpose, I am a man. I was raised by a strong and loving family, I am a man. I was taught to live, love, share and forgive, I am a man. I risked my life for the safety of others, I am a hero. I put my life aside to save yours, I am a hero. I knew it was my purpose to think of myself last, I am a hero. I raised a beautiful family with the love of my life, I am human. I taught them to be strong and always stick together, I am human. My love and I were the best parents and grandparents we could be, I am human. I lost my soul mate before I was ready, I am a fighter. I tried my best to keep my family together and strong, I am a fighter. The years went by, I grew ill, but that was'nt stopping me, I am a fighter. As the end was near, the family I raised never left my side, I am a great man. My last few days, I reflected on my life and realizes I did the best I could to try and fulfill my purpose, I am a great man. When Jackie called my name, I went to be with her again, I am an angel. With my love in my arms again, I will watch over the ones I left behind, I am an angel. Until we are reunited, we will always be with you, I am an angel. PawPaw, I mis and love you dearly, but I'll never feel alone, I'll never be afraid. Forever you'll be with me, and the family you and Jackie made.

He worked for the Fire Department from 1957 until his retirement in 1989 as deputy fire chief. He was also a Free Mason. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and he liked nothing better than to go to his favorite place to fish and hunt. Though death has taken him from us, he will always be with us through the things he has taught us, fishing and hunting, to the stories he has told. We will miss you dad and we are proud to be your daughters.A Special Thanks to all the nurses, CNA's and Doctors on the 5th floor at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, that took care of him in his final days.
