James Authur "Rudy" Brewer passed away on Monday, July 9 at the age of 64 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Priscilla Selman Brewer; their three sons; Mark, David, and Justin; Mark's wife Kelli and their sons, Cameron and Keller; and Justin's wife Lauren. He is also survived by one sister, Nancy Dawson and her husband, Tom; his two sisterin- laws; Olivia Thomas and her husband, Vance, and Sylvia Dial and her husband, Alton. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Quentin and Ellen Brewer; and two sisters, Marie Gold and Sue Wolf. Rudy spent most of his professional career working for Motion Industries. Preceding his retirement in 2005, he was manager of the Baton Rouge and Plaquemine branches. Rudy's favorite pastime was playing golf. If he wasn't spending time with his family, he could usually be found on the golf course or with his two bulldogs, Georgia and Max. Rudy's family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the nurses and staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for the gentle, loving care he received in his last days. For years of compassionate service, the family extends a heartfelt thanks to, Dr. Paul Michael Davis, Dr. John Mc- Clelland, and Dr. Louis Minsky. Visitation will take place Thursday, July 12 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge and will resume on Friday, July 13 from 10:30am until services at 11:30am.
