Abigail Renee Meares

March 22, 2004 — June 15, 2023

Abigail Renee Meares, age 19, from Baton Rouge, tragically passed away on June 15, 2023, after injuries resulting from an automobile accident. 

Abigail was born and raised in Baton Rouge. She was a lover of life and adored all animals. She aspired to one day be a veterinarian and follow her passions in life. Abigail attended St. Jude the Apostle Catholic school as a youth and Woodlawn High School. Gone from this world too soon, Abigail will leave a lasting impact on all who knew her.  

Abigail’s mother, Eileen Staci Meares, passed away days later from injuries sustained from the same car accident. Abigail was also preceded in death by her grandfather, James Daniel Meares. She is survived by her father, Jeff Meares and wife Jamie; her siblings, Jordan Bryce Meares, Kirsten Paige Meares, and Breanna Danielle Meares; step-siblings, Chase, Kathryn, and Mason Savoie; her grandparents, Kathy Meares, Jean Fritz (Jim), and William Webster (Gaylene); aunts and uncles, Angela Blanchard, Christi Renshaw, Scott Meares and wife JJ, Jason Meares and wife Sherie, Shawn Bakelman and husband Scott, and many loving cousins. 

Visitation will take place at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Rd., Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, July 6th from 9:30-10:30 AM, with services beginning at 10:30 AM, and reception immediately following.  A private interment will be held at a later time.   

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude the Apostle School, a place Abigail and her siblings hold very dear to their hearts.   .
