Althea “Gwen” Waller, resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born May 16, 1953, in Independence, Louisiana to Douglas Pourciau and Nina Guzzardo. She worked as a Medical Office Manager at The Medical Clinic of Baton Rouge and Medical Billing for nearly 25 years, overseeing daily operations while focusing and ensuring patient satisfaction.
Gwen enjoyed cooking and baking, her best and most sought-after dish being her thanksgiving stuffing. She loved spending “me time” at the casino spas or winding down with a good book. She never met a stranger and loved making new friends. She truly resembled a daisy with her pure beauty and the joy she brought to her family and friends.
Gwen is preceded in death by her parents; as well as her former spouse of 8 years, Johnnie Drago.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard Waller; Daughter, Jennifer Ball (Ronald); Son, Jonathan Drago (Mary Kathryn); Sister, Noelie Gulotta; brother, Douglas Pourciau Jr.; and grandchildren Whitney Ball (Lace), James Ball, Bre Ball, and Cooper Drago.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70816 on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Honoring Gwen as pallbearers are Jonathan Drago, Cooper Drago, James Ball, and Ronald Ball.
