Alton Melancon

Alton Belmont Melancon, age 88, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away at his home.

He was owner of M&A Pavement Striping Company and retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation. He was an Army Veteran.

Alton is survived by his daughter, Monique Tyler and husband John; his son Alton Brett Melancon and wife Kasey Canulette Melancon; his 5 grandchildren, Lindsay and Hunter Tyler, Ryan, Sydney and Reed Melancon; and lastly, his beloved friend, Helene Cumbaa.

He is preceded in death by his mother, his father, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, November 7, 2016, from 11:00am until 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Josephs Hospice.
