Al “Boo” LaPorte, Jr., born on August 19, 1967, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the age of 58.
Al was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from Redemptorist High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. He was the CEO of CMC Corporate Solutions, as well as a member of Healing Place Church. Al had a passion for hunting and fishing, specifically for specklebelly geese, tripletail, and speckled trout. When he wasn’t at CMC, he enjoyed spending time in Bay St. Louis and Orange Beach with friends and family. Al fought a relentless battle and was an inspiration to all.
Al is survived by his loving father, Al LaPorte, Sr.; devoted, caring and loving daughter, Drew LaPorte Trussell and husband, Spencer; sisters, Debbie Corsentino and husband, Mike, and Donna Gosserand and husband, Paul; nieces and nephews, Gabrielle Diez and husband, Vince, Dylan Corsentino and wife, Hannah, Brittany Gosserand, and Brandi Gosserand; great nieces and nephews, Vivian and Tucker Diez, and arriving soon, Annie Reese Corsentino; lifelong friend, Jason Hutchinson; special companion of many years, Summer Herring; former wife, close family friend, and mother of Drew, Shannon Babin; and his hunting companion and best friend, his yellow lab, Bella.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Viola “Vi” Loupe LaPorte.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Daniel LaVie and the entire team at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, December 27, 2025, beginning at 12:30 PM until services at 2:30 PM. Burial to follow at (pending).
Pallbearers will include Spencer Trussell, Paul Gosserand, Mike Corsentino, Dylan Corsentino, Jason Hutchinson, and Mickey Pocorello. Honorary pallbearers will include Al LaPorte, Sr., Vince Diez, Michael Thibodeaux, Alex Thibodeaux, and Mike Frank.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Healing Place Church, Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area, or Coastal Conservation Association (CCA Louisiana).
