Andrew Andrepont, resident of Ventress, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born on March 28, 1934, in St. Landry, Louisiana, to Mark Luke and Elsie Richard Andrepont. 


Andrew's life was characterized by his unwavering dedication to serving his community and his country. He was a proud Marine from 1951-1954 and fought in the Korean War. As the Captain of the Baton Rouge City Police Department, he exemplified leadership, integrity, and compassion in all aspects of his work. His commitment to upholding justice and protecting others was truly commendable.


Beyond his illustrious career, Andrew's true passion lay in his roles as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A devout Catholic, Andrew's faith shone through in every aspect of his life. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life - whether it was casting a line while fishing in his skeeter, cheering on LSU football games, or tending to his garden. He had a special talent for bringing people together through food and hospitality, creating lasting memories with family and friends. 
 
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Luke Andrepont and Elsie Marie Richard; his sisters, Martha Louise Mire, Cecilia Reeves, Rita Craig, and Theresa Lorio; and brother, Clifton "Cliff" Andrepont. 
 
He is survived by his loving spouse of 32 years, Ruby Jean LeJeune Andrepont; his sons, Rocky Andrepont (Sharon), Randy Andrepont (Linda) and Mark "Duby" Andrepont; grandchildren, Shannon Castle (Brett), Dalton Andrepont, David "Keith" Andrepont (Tasha), Ryan Andrepont, Adrienne McGregor (Dyllan), Marquette Armond, Tyler Poche (Kamryn), Tanner Stephens, and Connor Stephens; as well as numerous great-grandchildren who were the light of his life. Additionally, Andrew had a special bond with his stepchildren, Troy and Kelli Stephens, Angie and Brian Minvielle, and Tammie and John Thomassee, whom he loved as his own. 


The family would like to give special thanks to his loving caregivers, Ruby Andrepont, Angie Minvielle, Troy and Kelli Stephens, Tanner Stephens and Ellaina Daniels for their support and care during this difficult time. 


Pallbearers will be David “Keith” Andrepont, Dalton Andrepont, Tyler Poche, Dyllan McGregor, Ryan Andrepont, and Tanner Stephens. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge, on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.
