Anita Thompson

Anita Claire Achord Moulder Thompson passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 24, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Alton and Alice (Gaudin) Achord on September 10, 1938.

Anita was a talented piano player and was church pianist for 32 years. She formed the Gospel group, True Life, at church from a group of her "sons". They ministered to churches locally and out of state. Everyone considered her a second mom and she loved that! In fact, at our church (many years ago) on Mother's Day, mom received the corsage for most children present. When they asked for all of her kids to stand, the whole youth group stood up! Needless to say, she cried!

She was preceded in death by her parents Alton and Alice (Gaudin) Achord, her husbands Bondy Moulder and Frank Thompson, son Tracy Thompson, grandson Christopher Rushing and granddaughter Abby Thompson.

Survived by her children Barry (Marta) Moulder, Jimmy (Penny) Moulder, Becky Moulder (Steve) Rushing, Tanya Thompson, Tommy Thompson, Toby Thompson and by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend, Jan Diez.

Pallbearers will be Barry Moulder, Jimmy Moulder, Steve Rushing, Kirk Holder, Randy Porter and Hollis Rushing. Honorary pallbearers are sons Tommy & Toby Thompson and her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Posthumous pallbearer is Christopher Rushing.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816 on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 9:00 AM until service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
