Anna Fontenot

Anna Lee Faul Fontenot, known as “Nana”, age 77, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, 1:12AM at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Anna was born September 3, 1943 in Church Point, Louisiana, to Esther and Felton Faul. Wife and homemaker with Kelly James Fontenot and having four of her five children, the family moved to Baton Rouge, where Anna spent the majority of her adult life. She was a beautiful and strong young woman raising five children on her own yet challenged, but she accomplished going back to school with received her high school diploma. Nana enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, cooking along with teaching her grand children to cook and most of all dancing. I am sure that Byron and Nana are doing their swing dance while Dewayne smirking in the corner.

Anna was loved by the people around her, survived by her children, Donovan Troy Fontenot, Malinda Faye Fontenot and Adrian Fontenot and daughter in law, Lynette Evans Fontenot, siblings, Simone Daigle, Patricia Babineaux, Judy and (husband Johnny) Savoy, Myrina Foster, Linda Godeaux, Barbara Dupre, Deborah Faul and Blaine Faul.

Grandchildren, Amanda Fontenot, Dewayne and (wife, Elizabeth Joy) Fontenot, Ryan and (wife Lauren Hurst) Fontenot, Blake Bond, Ricky Bond, Brendan Fontenot, Peyton Fontenot, Dillon Fontenot, along with great grand children, Samuel Hadley, Jr., Ryatt Soileau, Noah Fontenot and Zoey Fontenot, and numerous other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Dewayne Louis Fontenot and Byron James Fontenot, father, Felton Faul and mother, Esther Faul.

Brother Joey Hoyt will be conducting services.

Visiting hours will be observed at 9:00AM - 12:00PM on Monday, March 22, 2021 and memorial services at 12:00PM at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Burial will follow memorial services.
