Anne Marie Bloemer Tucker of Prairieville, who was self-employed in recent years and also worked as a research associate at LSU from 1975 to 1997, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, after suffering from a lengthy illness. She was 69 years old.
Anne was born on June 8, 1954, in New Orleans to Joseph Henry Bloemer and Marie Josephine Ryan Bloemer. She grew up in New Orleans, and spent her early teenage years in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before returning home to New Orleans. She was a 1972 graduate of Marion Abramson Senior High School in New Orleans and a 1977 biology/genetics graduate of Louisiana State University.
She had many hobbies, including gardening, caring for her cats and dogs, singing in the church choir, and managing an extensive collection of porcelain dolls. She also loved collecting interesting pieces of costume jewelry.
Anne is survived by her husband Clyde Rupert Tucker, Jr. and would have celebrated 46 years of marriage on January 7. She is also survived by two sons, John Christopher Tucker of Prairieville, and Matthew Ryan Tucker of Alexandria; a sister-in-law Rebecca Tucker Pennington and husband, Royce, of Thibodaux; five nieces, Kelly Bloomer Mouton of Slidell, Ciara Bloemer of Mandeville, Nora Bloemer of Mandeville, Taylor Landry of Ponchatoula, and Ashley Landry Burck of Destrehan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Henry Bloemer and Marie Josephine Ryan Bloemer; and two brothers, Michael Joseph Bloemer and Gregory Joseph Bloemer.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff members of Bridgeway Home Hospice and Clarity Hospice and a special thank you to Ronnie Smith, dear friend and next-door neighbor.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anne’s name to St. Mary’s Residential Training School, P.O. Drawer 7768, Alexandria, LA 71306.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory following the funeral mass.
