WE ARE CONFIDENT, I SAY, AND WILLING RATHER TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY, AND TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD." 2 CORINTHIANS 5:8
Barbara Stelly Hollier was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
She was born on August 4, 1937, in Arnaudville, Louisiana and married Mitchell Hollier when she was 19 years old.
As a young bride she moved to Beaumont, Texas where she and her husband raised four children who were the light of her world. She poured herself into creating a loving atmosphere for her family where everything looked beautiful, smelled wonderful, and tasted delicious.
She was creative, with great zest for life, and had many interests and hobbies. She always had a warm and welcoming home where no one was a stranger. She had a contagious laugh, wonderful sense of humor and was loved by everyone who knew her. She had a kind and generous spirit, and you never left her house empty handed.
Barbara will be missed by all who knew her and were blessed by her love.
She is survived by her four children, Angela Achee (Robert), Jennifer Kimbrough (Michael), Monique Livingston (Mark), and Jude Hollier (Janie); six grandchildren: Cory Kimbrough, Kristen Dietz (Laban), Joshua Kimbrough, Colby Dean, Marissa Livingston, and Colton Hollier; her siblings, Lynne LeBlanc (George), Lenny Stelly (Marlene), Jesse Stelly, and Gayle Stelly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Hollier, her parents, Lenny and Zula Stelly, and her sister-in-law, Christi Stelly.
The family is especially grateful to her wonderful caregivers, Debora Carey, and Joanie Robertson for the excellent care they gave her. We also want to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge: Nurse Kim and Nurse Brittany were very compassionate and patient with us.
A Celebration of Life service will be held January 29, 2023 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at 11AM with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
