Barbara Adams Zeigler, 77, passed away in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 2, 1947, in Port Arthur, Texas to the late William Francis Adams and Sarah Bramer Adams.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and Christian. She was a graduate of Riverdale High School in Jefferson and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Louisiana State University. She had a true passion for teaching! Barbara began her career as a second-grade teacher at Bissonet Plaza Elementary, but she will forever be remembered for her many dedicated years as a teacher, administrator and curriculum specialist at Parkview Baptist Preschool, where she touched the lives of countless children and their families. She was a faithful member of Parkview Baptist Church for 50 years and embodied a profound love for the Lord.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Phil L. Zeigler; their sons Scott Zeigler (Angela), and Jeremy Zeigler (Danielle); and her adoring grandchildren Nathan Kratzberg (Elizabeth), Kate Kratzberg, Ava Carpenter, Mia Wyble and Brody Zeigler. She is also survived by her sister Adrienne Henzmann of Titusville, Florida, as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
The family extends their sincere thanks to Hospice in His Care and Danielle Wyble for their compassionate care of Barbara.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Parkview Baptist Church, 11795 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m.
