Bernita "Bonnie" Marie Veillon

Bernita “Bonnie” Marie Veillon, age 80, a native of Eunice, LA, and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Landmark of Baton Rouge Nursing Facility. Bonnie was a wonderful caregiver for most of her adult life. After her mother’s passing, she moved home to help raise her younger siblings and later her nieces and nephews. Shortly after moving to Baton Rouge, she worked at Best Childcare, lovingly caring for numerous children for over 15 years.

Bonnie is survived by three brothers, Roger Dale and wife Lort, Joel Glen and wife Toni of Eunice, Kevin Brian and his partner Tracie of Baton Rouge; five sisters, Arlene Faye Veillon, of Gonzales, Beverly Veillon Buckels and husband Kevin, of Baton Rouge, Barbara Veillon Sahara and husband Gary of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Madonna Veillon Comeaux, Mary Veillon Thibodeaux and partner Jules both of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Whitney Joseph and Mary Bella Vigé Veillon; her brothers, Whitney Joseph Jr. and Rachel Ray Veillon; and her sisters, Gwendolyn Veillon Frugé and Karen Denise Veillon.

Pallbearers will be Joel Veillon, Garrett Comeaux, Raun Manuel, Damien Morgan, Aiden Manuel, and Chris Morales. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Veillon, Kevin Veillon, Jules Melancon, Michal LoBello, and Kevin Buckels.

The family would like to thank the staff of Life Source Hospice and Landmark of Baton Rouge for all their care and compassion for Bonnie over the last few months.

The family would like to invite all relatives and friends to join them as we commemorate Bonnie’s life. A visitation will be held on August 19, 2025, at 10 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, until the Funeral Services begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
