Bessie Greer

Bessie Russell Greer passed away at The Crossing on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the age of 93.  She was a resident of Baton Rouge.  Bessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be missed by all.  Her smile was contagious and left a lasting impression to all.

Bessie is survived by her children, Diane Greer Willis (Charles), Russell Bee Greer (Roslyn), Patti Greer Legendre (David); treasured grandchildren Michelle Willis Baumgardner (Joe), Stewart Willis (Julie), Renee' Legendre Laurent (Glenn), Rebecca Legendre Eubank (Brad), Robin Legendre Skinner (Matt), Rachelle Legendre Crawford (Bryce), Ryan Greer, Ragan Greer Gallagher (Ben); 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and sister, Hazel Hall.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jasper O. “Duck” Greer; granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Greer; parents; and siblings Thomas Russell, Christine Herring, and J.B. Russell.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to The Crossing at Clarity Hospice or Istrouma Baptist Church.
