Betty Callis

Age 89 of Hermitage went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 18, 2024, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born December 9, 1934, in Greenbrier, TN to Ira & Loraine Leftwich Briggs. She was a homemaker and was a member of West End United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Perry L. Callis; daughter, Karen E. Callis Harward; grandson, Joshua R. Callis; 3 brothers, Vernon, Kemp & Bobby Briggs, 3 sisters, Mildred Carr, Edna Kirby, & Faye Adcock. She is survived by son, Tim (Beth) Callis, Mt. Juliet, TN; daughter, Pat (Jackie) Cook, Baton Rouge, LA; son-in-law, Michael (Trisha) Harward, Nicholasville, KY; brothers, Maurice Briggs, White House, TN and Jerry (Norma) Briggs, FL; sisters, Beverly Scurlock, Hendersonville, TN, and Judy Morris, Donelson, TN; 7 grandchildren, Michael (Brandy) and Chris (Kristi) Cook, Joe Callis, Andrew, Nicholas and Cora Harward; 2 great-grandchildren, Blake and Jhett Cook. Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison, TN. There will be a Celebration of Life service scheduled later.
