Blakeleigh Lorén Weems

March 8, 2006 — January 1, 2024

“I don’t see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad…” - Ariel

Blakeleigh Lorén Weems, born on March 8, 2006, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, peacefully departed on January 1, 2024. A proud native of Walker and a resident of Baton Rouge, Blakeleigh was a senior at Walker High School.

Dedicated and accomplished, Blakeleigh held a 4.2 GPA and served as a cheerleader for her entire life. She left a lasting mark on her school community by actively engaging in school committees, SGA, Digital Media and Beta club. Blakeleigh's passion for entertainment began with cheer and extended to singing, where her talent shined in various school activities.

Accepted to multiple universities, she ultimately chose LSU, where academic and residential scholarships awaited her. Blakeleigh aspired to pursue marketing and business and dreamed of interning as a Disney Princess. Her diverse interests included animals, reading, Mario and quality time with loved ones.

Blakeleigh's infectious smile and laughter illuminated the lives of those around her. She showed us, like her favorite Disney princess Ariel, that just as there were wonderful things about life under the sea, there are also wonderful things about the world above. She will be remembered as a funny, beautiful, and talented soul who embraced life & Christ to the fullest.

Survived by her parents, Chasity and Kyle Johnstone, and her siblings Beau and Charli Kate, as well as Nelson Lynn and Tara Weems, with her sibling Remi. Blakeleigh also leaves behind grandparents Mark and Ginger Sehon, Randall and Tammy Weems, Stewart Johnstone, Mary Johnstone, Sarah Caldarera, Gwen and Jed Desselle. Great grandparents John and Willie Hachmeister. Aunts and uncles; Crystal and Les, Gabbe and Nicholas, Sophie and Lance, Craig and Hanna, Charlie "Ted", Brytanni and Christian. Cousins; Hayden, London, Brock, Kayden, Kohlbin, Cullen, True, Grey, Ace, Revie, and Bryn. She is preceded in death by Judith Berthelot, Michelle Aubert, Colton Key, Cecil and Lois Chustz, Inez Sumrall, Rosa Hebert and Howard Westley. She had so many special friendships that she cherished throughout her life. The family expresses gratitude for the support and friendships that enriched Blakeleigh's life.

Pallbearers will be Nelson Lynn Weems, Kyle Johnstone, Beau Johnstone, Craig Weems, Hayden Weems, Ted Weems, Nicholas St. Amant, and Michael Hilbun.
