Bobbie B. Kendrick

Bobbie Bridges Kendrick was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. She was born January 24, 1934, and passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on May 10, 2024. She worked in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System from which she retired after more than 30 years.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church Downtown Baton Rouge.

A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday 10:00 am until service at 11:00 am conducted by Rev. Chan Willis. Graveside service to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Edgar David Kendrick; parents, Mr. & Mrs. L.S. “Bugs” Bridges. Survived by her sister, Nan Dry; daughters, Patricia Gowdy, and Sandra Young (Randy); son, David Alan Kendrick (Tiffany); five grandchildren, Ashley Walker (Nicholas), Courtney Barnes (Shaun), Barton Gowdy (Raeanne), Bayli Kendrick and Parker Kendrick; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Walker, Jason Rash, Leaha Gowdy, and Beau Gowdy; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Alan Kendrick, Parker Kendrick, Barton Gowdy, Randy Young, Nicholas Walker, Robert Nance, Greg Tullier and Ken Miller.

She attended LSU, loved family time, stitching & cruising with her husband. The family would like to thank her physicians & care teams over the last couple of years, Pinnacle Hospice staff that patiently helped the family during this time and especially her sitter, Mrs. Shellie Burch.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the LA Lion’s Camp in Leesville, LA or LA School for the Visual Impaired of Baton Rouge, LA.
