Bobby Breau

June 20, 1941 — November 22, 2022

Joseph “Bobby” Breau passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the age of 81 surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sue Breau, his four children Karen Fournet (Marc), Dr. Randy Breau (Lisa), Barry Breau (Cyndi) and Michelle Fisher (Kirk); sister Carolyn Salpietra; eleven grandchildren Monique Fournet, Adrienne Cotaya, Andrew Fournet, Hannah Breau, Connor Breau, Michael Sonnier, Brandon Breau, Hallie Breau, Claire Fisher, Sydney Fisher, and Grant Fisher; five great-grandchildren Andrew Bowden, Renee Bowden, Lola Cotaya, Jack Cotaya, and Walter Cotaya; and a niece and numerous nephews.

He was born on June 20, 1941, in Morganza, Louisiana. His family moved to Baton Rouge, and Bobby graduated from Istrouma High School in 1959.  He enjoyed keeping up with his classmates, friends, and fellow members of the North Baton Rouge Lunch Club where he reminisced about the “good ole days” at his favorite local restaurants.

He began his working career at Gulf States Utilities followed by over 25 years with BASF.  After leaving BASF, Bobby joined Alpha Process Sales where he later became a part owner and ultimately retired in 2007.

Bobby had numerous hobbies.  He was an exceptionally talented artist with over 105 original watercolor paintings and sketches.  He also enjoyed playing golf with his close friends at Greystone Country Club.  He was an avid gardener.  His family, friends, and neighbors benefited from his expertise with plentiful harvests of fruits and vegetables.

Bobby and Sue were founding members of St. Patrick Parish where he served as Usher and Eucharistic Minister for over 20 years.  Bobby was also a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather relishing every minute he could spend with his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lee Breau and Mary Lou Bramlett Breau, and his brother Chris Breau.

We are eternally grateful for the extraordinary care provided by the team of physicians, nurses, and staff at Our Lady of the Lake Heart and Vascular Institute.
