Bobby Gerald Osborn Sr., age 91, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. He was born in Many, La, and later moved to Coldwater, La. He then again moved to Lake Charles, La, and once more to Baton Rouge, La.
Bobby loved to return to his family home in Coldwater, La, as much as he could. He and his siblings stayed close by, meeting there for special times together. In the past years he would go with Susan, Rodney, and Rod Jr. to cut the grass. Sometimes he would cut grass, and other times while on the mower, supervise with his eyes closed. Recently, because of his health, he hadn’t been able to travel with them and truly missed going back.
He had many fruit trees, but his favorite of them all was his satsuma trees. Many people were blessed with bag(s) of his satsumas. He also enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking or putting up pickles, pears, figs, or jams.
He was a long-time member of Parkview Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and enjoyed The Senior Adult Activities lead by his Senior Adult Pastor, Merlin Liverman.
Bobby is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Rhodes of Biloxi, Ms, and Susan King (Rodney) of Prairieville, La; two sons, Bobby Osborn Jr. (Brenda) of Baton Rouge, La, and Kenneth Osborn of Baton Rouge, La; nine grandchildren, Melissa Rhodes, Rachel Tillman (Kenny), Beth Rhodes (David), Bradley Osborn (Jessica), Tyler Osborn, Brittney King, Rodney King Jr., Maegan Settoon (Trevor), and Nick Osborn; nine great-grandchildren, Braelyn King, Dakota King, Madisyn Tillman, Eli Settoon, Brynleigh Watts, Jaxtyn King, Luke Osborn, Woods Rhodes Bley, and Carissa Osborn; and sisters, Lynda Trahan of Kinder, La, and Alta Osborn of Covington, La.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lillie Osborn; daughter, Peggy Osborn; sisters, Mary Fontenot, Shawnee Nash, and Glynda Broadway; and brother, Cecil Clyde Osborn Jr. (Bubber).
Bobby’s two daughters and son are thankful to their brother, Kenneth Osborn, for being a dedicated and loving caregiver to their dad.
