Brent A. Nettles

Brent Allen Nettles passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the age of 57. Brent was born on a Monday, May 19, 1969, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended Louisiana State University, where he earned his BS in accounting. His professional accomplishments include working as the Executive Director at Options Foundation, and the Vice President at the Rouzan branch of Concordia Bank. Being a man of numerous passions, Brent has worked in many fields, including banking, real estate, and consulting.

Brent had a variety of passions, skills and hobbies, and loved to be with his friends and family. He loved sports, was a fan of the LSU Tigers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, never missed a Sunday NASCAR race, and basketball always held a special place in his heart- both watching and playing, as a former Allstate Basketball player.

Brent was a phenomenal cook. He could cook up all the best traditional Louisiana dishes, but his gumbo was always top tier. He loved cars, and spent countless hours working on his vintage mustang. Brent also loved music; you can guarantee that if a song by Guns & Roses or Prince came on, the volume would be at full blast.

While Brent could fix almost anything, his hobbies also had a soft side. Brent was a wonderful cross-stitcher, loved gardening, and went through a baking phase. He was always proud to show off his plants and new recipes to family and friends. He was the only one who could perfectly recreate his Mamaw’s pralines at every Christmas.

Brent was not always the most talkative guy in the room, but he had a great sense of humor and did not take life too seriously. He was happy to do anything that put a smile on his daughters’ faces.

Brent is preceded in death by his grandmother, Edith Nettles. He is survived by his parents, Lee and Lynn Nettles; his beloved daughters, Brittany Nettles, Brooke Nettles, and Hannah Nettles; brother, Derek Nettles (Stephanie); niece and nephew, Ellianna and Eian Nettles; and best friends, Walter Tharp, Paul Roberts, and Donnie Kogel “DK”.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his former spouse, Frances Chapman, for all of the comfort, love, and support she has provided their daughters during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Brent’s life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at

Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, in Baton Rouge. All will be welcomed at 10:00 AM with Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 AM and reception following at 12:30 PM at Thai Kitchen.
