A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Poplarville, Miss., and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She was 81. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 29, from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m., conducted by Alan Moak. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by a son, Bill Boyd and wife Connie; a daughter, Ginger and husband Leo Bossier Jr.; grandchildren, Chad Boyd and wife Suzanne, Kevin and Blake Boyd, Joseph, Janna and Monica Bossier and Leann and husband Travis Procell; two great-grandchildren, Mason Boyd and Jaidyn Procell; a sister, Lou Clay; and a brother, Pete Harvey and wife Eva. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Davis W.D. Boyd; parents, Willie Ivey Harvey and Mary Elizabeth Smith Harvey; sisters, Era McSween, Willie Mae Wels, Melba McLaughlin, Wessie Simmons, Mavis Simmons and Mary Jean Prestridge; and a brother, Loy Harvey. Pallbearers will be Bill Boyd, Chad Boyd, Kevin Boyd, Blake Boyd, Leo Bossier and Joseph Bossier.
