Mrs. Catherine Campo Adomitis, age 94 of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. She was born on May 22, 1932, to the late Joseph J. Campo and Fannie Schittone Campo. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Catherine is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth A. Melancon (Greg); sons, Joseph M. Adomitis (Kimali), August F. Adomitis III; grandchildren, Kristen M. Bourgeois (Daniel), Gregory A. Melancon Jr. (Cortni); great-grandchildren, Jacob D. Bourgeois, Charlotte E. Bourgeois, Madelyn C. Melancon, Luke J. Melancon, and Molly G. Melancon; and 9 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Fannie Schittone Campo; her husband, August F. Adomitis Jr.; her siblings, Steve J. Campo Jr., Sarah Guzzardo, Mary Lavigne, John J. Campo Sr., and John J. Campo. A devout Catholic, Catherine was an active and beloved parishioner of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. For over 50 years, she volunteered as a cantor and faithfully served in the church's various ministries. Her deep faith, radiant warmth, and dedication to serving others were the cornerstones of her life. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Gregory Melancon Jr., Daniel Bourgeois, Jacob Bourgeois, Raymond Lavingne, B.J. Guzzardo, and Bert Purgatorio.
