Psalm 23.6: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Celeste Barras Buhler. Celeste passed on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the tender age of 42. She was a resident of Central and a graduate of Central High School, Class of 2000. She attended Southern University and A&M College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Nursing was her passion and Celeste touched countless lives in hospitals and hospice organizations around Baton Rouge. She loved her patients, and they loved her. Her passion for helping extended to everyone lucky enough to know her. She adored her two daughters and supported them in every way she could. Cheering her girls on from the stands at softball games, spending quality time with family and friends, cuddling with her three precious puppies, LuLu, Tuti, and Susie, cooking for anyone who said they were hungry, and clipping her rose bushes were just a few of the things Celeste loved and cherished. If you met Celeste, you never forgot her. Her witty personality and infectious laugh were qualities that attracted anyone she met. She leaves a legacy of love.
Celeste is survived by her husband of 12 years, Corey; daughters, Autumn Vessier and Dakota Haynsworth; parents, Randy and Deborah Barras; brother, Jason Barras and wife, Monique; sister, Colette Shavers and husband, Jason; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Percy and Enid Matherne, and Preston and Evelyn Barras.
Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on June 28, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, with a memorial service to begin at 2:30pm. A committal service will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Celeste’s two daughters, Autumn Vessier and Dakota Haynsworth.
