Charles Watson

November 8, 1940 — March 22, 2021

Charles Edward Watson, a resident of Walker, LA, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 80.  He had fought a courageous battle with cancer since 1996 and had recently been diagnosed with a recurrence of the cancer.  He worked in the Electrical Workers Local Union 995 and was widely known in the trade as “Charlie Whopper.”

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who loved his family dearly.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ada Frances Cifreo Watson; daughter, Lisa Watson Huffty and husband Warren; grandchildren, Rachel Hopper and husband Jarod and Ryan Huffty; brother, Tommy Watson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Watson; parents, Richard and Kathryn Watson; and brother, Richard Watson.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
