Cherry Mae McCullough passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 83, at the Baton Rouge General Hospital. Born February 10, 1942, to her parents John Howard (Mutt) McCullough and Geneva (Peggy) Rice McCullough in Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from Istrouma High School in 1960. Cherry was a secretary for different companies and retired from the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office after many years of service. She was a devoted member of the Goodwood Blvd. Church of Christ, served on the Villa Del Rey Citizens Association board of directors, and was a member and Past Matron of the Eastern Star.
Cherry was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Howard Ray McCullough; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Cherry is survived by her cousins, the Fitzgerald family, the Osterberger family, Reggie Alford, Tollie Rice and Daniel Cherry Rice, III.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In Cherry’s memory, donations may be made to the Goodwood Blvd. Church of Christ.
