Cheryl McClendon Miller

June 25, 1951 — December 19, 2025

Cheryl McClendon Miller, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the age of 74. A long-time resident of Mississippi, Cheryl was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 25, 1951. She attended Jones Community College and was dedicated to her career as a Mortgage Loan Processor in the banking industry.

Cheryl was an active and cherished member of Lakeshore Methodist Church, where she devoted many years caring and nurturing the youngest members of her community while in the church nursery. An avid LSU football fan, Cheryl celebrated both the small and the significant moments in life - especially during her favorite holiday, Christmas. Cheryl loved her family fiercely and found great joy in spoiling her grandchildren.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Henry “Scotty” McClendon; her sister, Sue Trigg; and her brother, Randall Shows.

She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Jordan; her loving daughters, Kim York and Kelli Corson (Sam); her adored grandchildren, Aubrie Lofton (Caleb), William Corson (Haley), and Kenzie York; her great-grandson, Matthew Corson; her brother, James McClendon (Delores); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to Cheryl’s Community Bank family and Bunko family for their unwavering support during this time, as well as the numerous people who have reached out with love and prayer.

The family would like to invite all who knew and loved Cheryl to join them as we commemorate her life. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Lakeshore Methodist Church, 6880 South Siwell Road, in Byram, Mississippi, with a Memorial Visitation from 10:00 AM until services are held at 11:00 AM. An additional Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from 1:00 PM until funeral services are held at 2:30 PM.
