It is with deep love and profound sorrow we share that Christopher Stacy Hicks, age 31, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on August 23, 2025. Though his life on earth was far too short, it was filled with love, joy, and the gift of family.
From the very beginning, Christopher’s life was a testimony of God’s providence. Through the blessing of adoption, he became a beloved son and brother — chosen, cherished, and deeply loved. His story reminds us of the greater truth that in Christ, we are all adopted as children of God.
Chris will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his infectious smile, and his deep love for those around him. While he faced hardships, those struggles do not define his life. What defines him is love; the love he gave and the love he received. We rejoice in the promise that he is now whole and at peace, resting in the eternal presence of God. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18).
Chris is survived by his loving mother, Darlene Hicks; brother, Phillip Hicks; sister, Nikki Stanley; grandmother, Jewell Hargroder; and an extended family who will forever hold him in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Hicks; grandfathers, Charles Hargroder and Noah Hicks; grandmother, Jesse Hicks; aunts, Charlene Simoneaux and Flora Crabtree; and uncles, Rodney Hargroder and Chuck Gilmer.
Though our hearts ache, we cling to the promises of Scripture: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life… nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39).
Christopher’s earthly journey has ended, but his eternal life has just begun. He is now home, adopted into the fullness of God’s family, safe forever in the arms of Jesus.
A Celebration of Christopher’s life will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, August 29, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
