Christopher Glenn “Chris” Rushing, age 35, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”. – 2 Timothy 4:7. Being diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy before the age of 4, he never let that define who he was. He met each challenge without complaint and never felt sorry for himself.
Christopher is survived by his parents Steve and Becky Rushing. He is also survived by his grandparents Hollis and Helen Rushing and Anita Thompson and uncles Jeff (Renee), Brett (Lisa), Barry (Marta), Jimmy (Penny), Tommy, and Toby and aunt Tanya plus numerous cousins.
Preceded in death by grandfathers Bondy Moulder and Frank Thompson, great-grandparents Alton/Alice Achord, Webb/Mattie Moulder, Hollis D./Gladys Rushing and Harold/Luella Geho plus an uncle and cousins.
Visitation will be at Resthaven on Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm and resuming on Friday morning at 9 am until the service at 10:30 am.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Rushing, Brett Rushing, Benjamin Rushing, Barry Moulder, Jimmy Moulder and Jason Moulder. Honorary pallbearers will be his cousins and friend, Nicholas Sprunk.
