Claire Baumann Heine, born on July 27, 1931, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the age of 94.
Claire was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She graduated high school from The Academy of the Holy Angels in New Orleans, LA. She later became an accounting technician for USDA National Finance Center until her retirement. She was a long-time resident of Chalmette, LA, until Hurricane Katrina in 2005. At which time she moved to Baton Rouge, LA. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Claire always loved playing bingo, watching “The Kitchen”, solving puzzles, and sweets. Above all, family remained her most important priority. She was also a long-time supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Claire is survived by her four children, Lynn Wilbanks (David), Alfred Heine, Jr. (Barbara), Barry Heine, and Lauren Macheca (Nicky); sister, Lois Tedesco; grandchildren, Alfred Heine, III, Jeffrey Wilbanks (Leigh Anne), Rachelle Heine, Erin Wilbanks, Kyle Heine (Carissa), Brett Heine, Nicholas Macheca (Emily), and Joshua Macheca (Devin); great-grandchildren, Nathan, Gabriel, Major, Maggie Claire, Benton, Hayden, Jocelyn, Bennett, Emily, and Myles; as well as other great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Alfred F. Heine, Sr.; parents, Inez M. Secar and John Francis Baumann; sisters, Inez Moore and Noel Moore; and brothers, Robert Baumann, John Baumann, and Buddy Baumann.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Garden View Assisted Living, Tunya Horton, Doris Brooks, Tracy Stafford, and Pinnacle Hospice.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Claire’s life on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until funeral services at 11:00AM, officiated by Deacon Alec Campbell.
