From an early age, it was evident that Clyta had an indomitable spirit and an immense love for life. Her vibrant personality and zest for adventure made her loved by all. Clyta's magnetic presence drew people towards her, and her warm smile could brighten even the gloomiest days. Clyta's unwavering love and infectious enthusiasm touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together, fostering connections and nurturing friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Her genuine compassion and empathetic nature made her a trusted confidant and a pillar of support for those in need.

One of Clyta's greatest passions was travel, which she shared with her wonderful husband. They had an insatiable wanderlust and embarked on numerous adventures, exploring the far corners of the globe. They would return from their journeys with captivating stories and beautiful souvenirs, which she lovingly shared with her family and friends. Her travels enriched her life and broadened her perspective, making her an inspiring source of knowledge and wisdom.

In addition to her love for travel, Clyta was an ardent admirer of Jazz and Blues. These genres' rhythmic melodies and soulful tunes resonated deep within her soul. Whether attending live performances, which she loved to do or spending quiet evenings at home with her favorite records, Clyta found solace and joy in the music that spoke to her heart. She was often seen swaying and tapping her feet to the beat, fully immersed in the enchanting rhythms that defined her spirit.

Her family and friends will lovingly remember Clyta Ruth Jenkins. She leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to bring smiles and warmth to all those that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Mildred Bates Day and Clyde Day; her wonderful husband of twenty years, Alton “Bernard” Jenkins; sisters, Patsy Ruth Moore, Victoria Gewin, Carolyn Stafford, and Virginia LeJeune.

She is survived by her loving companion (dog) Scottie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
