Cynthia E. Marceaux

August 22, 1953 — June 7, 2025

Greenville, MS

Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.’ John 11:25-26

Cynthia Gail Eskins Marceaux, cherished wife, mother, and grandmother was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday morning, June 7, 2025, at the age of 71. Cynthia was born to Eugene and Joann Eskins on August 22, 1953, in Logan, West Virginia (and the mountains of West Virginia were always in her heart.) She traveled extensively in her early years, including locations throughout Europe and even Ghana, Africa. She met the love of her life, Charles Gabriel Marceaux, while they both worked at the CIA in Virginia. They eventually settled in Charles’ home state of Louisiana, where they worked hard to make a wonderful home for their four beautiful daughters. Cynthia loved reading, solving word puzzles, shopping, playing games, and of course, being surrounded by her family. She loved the Lord and served as a church secretary, taught VBS for many years, supported her husband in his role as a bi-vocational pastor, and has left a lasting legacy of faith for all four of her daughters and their families.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Joann Eskins.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Charles Marceaux, and their daughters, Sarah Ashley (Ryan), Katie Bourque (Clay), Becky Lovell (Brad), and Emily Tong (Yangbin); her grandchildren, Ethan Bourque (Gabrielle), Hannah Ashley, Noah Ashley, Katelyn Bourque, Isabella Bourque, Payton Lovell, Jayce Lovell, Ezra Tong, Ean Tong and Ellie Tong; her sister, Shawnee Schupbach, and two brothers, Joseph Eskins and Matthew Eskins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 14, 2025, beginning at 1:30 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m., officiated by her husband, Rev. Charles Marceaux. Pallbearers are her four sons-in-law, Ryan Ashley, Clay Bourque, Bradley Lovell, Yangbin Tong, and two grandsons, Ethan Bourque and Noah Ashley. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
