Daniel LeJeune passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the age of 41. He was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Gary and Karen LeJeune on August 3, 1984.
He grew up in Abbeville, Louisiana and graduated from The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas where he gained many lifelong friends. Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and attended the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Daniel was a dedicated air traffic controller at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) for 17 years where he formed a true brotherhood with his two crews. In his spare time, he enjoyed grilling pork chops, making a good fall gumbo, watching hockey, going fishing and racing around in his speedy Tesla. But most of all, Daniel truly enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends while making people laugh with his wittiness and amazing ability to insert the perfect movie quote at any occasion.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Warren Luke LeJeune, Janice Carmen LeJeune, and Mary Frances Evans.
Daniel was survived by his loving wife of seven years, Amy Smith LeJeune; his mother, Karen Evans LeJeune; father, Gary LeJeune; and stepmother, Cindy LeJeune; brother, Michael LeJeune (Lupita); sister, Emily Eldridge (Brad); niece, Emma Eldridge; and nephew, Andrew Eldridge as well as his beloved in-laws, extended family members and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Daniel’s life on Friday, August 7, 2026, at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive in Baton Rouge, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Friends and family are invited to a reception at Resthaven Funeral Home following the burial.
