David Collins

The retired owner of Collins Fire Protection and a resident of Gonzales, he passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 61, a native of Baton Rouge and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Saturday, Jan. 5, from 5 p.m. until service at 7 p.m. Interment at a later date. Survived by his wife, Debbie Kimbrell Collins mother, Doris Dunne stepson, Paul Cook and wife Megan brothers, Robert Collins and wife Rebecca, Alan Dunne and wife Robin, and William Dunne and wife Kathie and grandchild, Alivia Cook. Preceded in death by his father, Joseph Collins. He excelled at table tennis and played in tournaments all over the world.
