Donald E Coulter, 73, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021. He moved around a lot as a young child but settled in Baton Rouge 1971and stayed. He was born in Columbus, Georgia but lived across the river in Phenix City, Alabama. He later moved to Chattanooga, TN and graduated from Red Bank High 1966. He was later drafted into the Army in 1968 and serve in Viet Nam with the 1st Inf. Division ''The Big Red One". After moving to Baton Rouge to work with his father and brother he became interest in drafting for the petro-chemical field and retired from Jacobs Engineering after 25 years. During his retirement he became a member of the Baton Rouge Gem & Mineral Society and enjoyed sharing his rock collection with people. Donald also loved to take his kids fishing and loved to read.
He met his wife of 50 years in 1968 and married in 1970. He is survived by his wife Glenna Jones Coulter, daughters Andria Coulter Nasset, Robin Coulter Lowry, sons David and Paul Coulter. Son-in-laws Kenneth Nasset and Jason Lowry. Grandchildren Leigha Coulter, Kenneth and Sabrae Nasset, Devlyn, Helen, Tristan, and Layla Coulter, Jaden Willis and his beloved dog Munchkin. Also survived by his sister Cynthia Coulter Erickson and brother Michael Coulter, cousins Jean Whitaker, Joe Elder and Debbie Coulter and the many children he unofficially adopted over the years. He is preceded in death by his parents R Edward and Barbara Tucker Coulter and his cousin James Elder.
Visiting will take place outside at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA.
The family Donald Coulter wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in the ICU and telemetry at Ochsner Medical Center that treated him.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and graveside services will begin at 10:30 am at Resthaven Gardens of Memory 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
