Donna Rae Jacobsen

Donna Rae Jacobsen passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2026, in Baton Rouge. Louisiana, at the age of 88. She was born on October 9, 1937, in Glendive, Dawson County, Montana, to Raymond and Ruth Olmstead.

Donna graduated from high school and went on to pursue a career as a dog groomer. She met her husband, Gifford, while teaching, and she was a devoted spouse and mother and spent her time raising her family. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, dancing, and spending time with friends and family.

Donna is preceded in death by her spouse of over 50 years, Dr. Gifford Sherman Jacobsen; parents, Raymond S. Olmstead and Ruth Midboe Olmstead; son, Sherman Fredrick Jacobsen; sisters, Myrna J. Olmstead Swisse (Tieszen), and Joyce E. Olmstead Winchester; and brother, Arthur R. Olmstead.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Rae Jacobsen; and brother, Kenneth Olmstead.

An inurnment will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM, officiated by Chuck Ross.
