Doris Mcgehee

Doris Jeannine McGehee reached the end of her trail on July 15, 2012, at the age of 50. She was born on January 23, 1962, was a graduate of Belaire High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Visiting on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, from 5 pm to 8 pm., and on Thursday from noon until service at 2 pm conducted by Pastor Dave Buss and Vicar Geoff Gronewold. Internment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by her mother, Doris Dottie McGehee grandmother, Mary Aime Pruyn brother and sister, Richard Dewayne McGehee and Charlene McGehee Berger and brother and sistersinlaw, William Chuck Charles Berger, Jr. and Marinea Oliver McGehee. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Marshall G. and Catherine Kitty Pruyn, and R. Charles Chuck and Shirley McGehee Hogan nephews and nieces, Richard Trent and Gabrielle Ford McGehee, Olivia Ruth McGehee, Roger Zachary McGehee, Lucas Dewayne McGehee, Grace Marie Berger and Christian Elijah Berger and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard E. McGehee infant sister, Shirley Ann McGehee grandfather, Marshall Goodwin Pruyn, Jr. grandmother, Grace Norsworthy McGehee and grandfather, Elijah E. McGehee. Pallbearers include Robert C. Hogan, William C. Berger, Jr., Marshall G. Pruyn, Lucas McGehee, Trent McGehee and Zachary McGehee. Honorary pallbearers include Richard Dewayne McGehee, Marshall Scott Pruyn, Eugene Christopher Pruyn, and Robert Kurt Pruyn. Jeannine is loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She had a lifelong love for horses, and while time and body permitted, she cared for, showed and trained them. Now the time has come to give her the reins again and let her ride into the sunset with God where peace and green pastures never end. Ride on In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be sent to St. Josephs Hospice , 10615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, La 70809. The family thanks the staff at The Carpenter House for the care given to them at this difficult time.
