Dorothy Marie Kinberger Stockstill

Dorothy Marie Kinberger Stockstill, a native of Plaquemine, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 87. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she spent her career in education as a teacher. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Phi Mu Sorority, and Baton Rouge Symphony League. She enjoyed watching all college sports, especially the LSU Tigers and any of the other SEC teams. She had other favorite sports teams, Georgia where her granddaughter Caroline graduated, where Kate Michael attends, and TCU where Claudia graduated undergrad and masters. She was also part of a group of close-knit high school friends often referred to as “The Golden Girls.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Stockstill; her son, Robert William Stockstill, Jr.; parents, Edmund Danos Kinberger and Olive Mae Kinberger; and brother, Edmund Danos Kinberger Jr.

She is survived by her children, Brent Michael Stockstill and Anne Marie Stockstill Bradford (Trey); her loving grandchildren who called her “Nana”, Caroline Bradford Bruns (Bennett), Claudia Bradford Greehey (William), William Bradford, Morgan Stockstill, Robert Stockstill III, and Kate Michael Stockstill; great-grandchildren, Bradford Reed Bruns and Branson Robert Bruns; brother-in-law, Ray Lee Stockstill (Susan); and niece, Teri Lyn Stockstill Mayeaux.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70806, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sequeira Ross, and the compassionate staff at OLOL and the Carpenter House for their loving care and support.
