I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
~ 2 Timothy 4:7
Douglas Brian White went to his eternal rest on June 10, 2023, at the age of 65, after a valiant nine-month battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.
“Doug” was born on June 24, 1957, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from Central High School in 1975 where he was voted “Wittiest” by his peers…. a testament to his quick and clever humor. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Business and retired as General Sales Manager at LKQ Corporation. He was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church and actively participated in their Adult Sunday School class.
Doug was a passionate outdoorsman who loved hunting with his buddies in the 14-19 Hunting Club as well as an avid LSU fan who loved cheering on his Tigers. But his favorite and most important past time was playing with his three precious grand “Bay Bays,” Mckenzie Taylor (Tooty Boo), Owen Douglas (Huckleberry) and Cameron Colleen (Tut) White. His passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his quick wit and hilarious sense of humor. Doug also possessed a unique and rare set of interpersonal skills…. he just understood and respected the people around him and he truly touched countless lives across multiple generations. His love of life was evident in the way he lived it and he will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
Left to celebrate Doug’s passion for living are the love of his life, his wife of 42 years, Gail Wilson White, and sons Evan Taylor (Lauren) and Dylan Joseph White in whom Doug’s legacy will live on. He is also survived by grandchildren Mckenzie, Owen and Cameron White; sisters Charla Fletcher (PR) and Madeline DeLucca (Tony); sisters-in-law Darla Burge (Tray), Sara Gueho (Willie), and Insa Becnel; mother-in-law Jeanette Finch; five nephews, five nieces, three great nephews and three great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray “Sonny” White; mother, Marian Bouquet White; brother, Jeff White; father-in-law, Billie Wilson; and brother-in-law, Byron Becnel.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care and support.
