Dous served as Louisiana State Troopers Association Retiree Affiliate President from 2009-2020. Dous returned to the State Police in 2011. He continued his commitment to the Applied Technology program at the LSP training academy until 2018. He then transferred to the Criminal Intelligence division of the Louisiana State Police until his death.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Doussan and Lucille Rando; niece, Nicole “Nikki” Starns Alleman; and father-in-law, James J. Peeler, Sr.
Dous loved golfing, barbequing, the beach, but mostly spending time with his wife, family, and friends. His love, pride, and enjoyment of his family and friends was always a priority. Family Sunday dinners, birthday celebrations, and beach trips will not be the same without his boisterous laugh, grumpy teasing, and great stories.
Such a wonderful character who loved and was loved – if only we could have more time. Rest in peace, Dous.
Visitation will held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, March 20, 2021 beginning at 8:30 AM until services at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
