Edith Hood

A retired executive secretary with Albemarle and a resident of Belle Rose, she died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 69 and a native of Springfield. A memorial service will be held at a later date. She was cremated at Resthaven Crematory. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Dan Jarrell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dana and Sandra Caston and Scott and Tina Hood; sister, Jerri Deal; brother, Raymond Ballard; companion, James Bergeron; stepson, Michael Ray Hood; stepdaughter, Terri Hood; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hood; stepson, Chuck Hood; parents, Samuel and Josephine Ballard.
