Edward Fontenot

Edward J. Fontenot, native of Ville Platte, La and resident of Denham Springs, La passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the age of 85. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Monday, September 3, 2012 from 3:30 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception in Denham Springs from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rita B. Fontenot three sons, Randy Fontenot and wife Marcella, Dwayne Fontenot and fiance Kathy Lachney, and Keith Fontenot and fiance Melissa Wilson seven grandchildren, Stewart, Burke, Craig, Kane, Jennifer, Patricia, and Kevin ten greatgrandchildren one sisterinlaw, Irene Jeanise one brotherinlaw, Shelery Briscoe and wife Ann and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Delta Fontenot four brothers and four sisters. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of Brick Layers Union Local 5. He was a member of Immaculate Conception for 35 years, and also a member of Knights of Columbus for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and will be missed by all who knew him.
