Elaine Kathleen Zollmann

July 18, 1939 — March 19, 2026

Elaine Kathleen Zollmann, age 86, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Baton Rouge General Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Elaine was born July 18, 1939, in Anthony, Kansas. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, where she met George Robert Zollmann in a typing class at Beaumont High School. The two were later married on December 2, 1961, and shared a 64-year life together built on love and family. In 1972, the Zollmanns left the Midwest behind and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Elaine was the proud mother of two children, Gregg and Amy, who were the center of her world. She was blessed with three loving grandsons, Ben, Jack and Connor, as well as three wonderful step-grandchildren, Logan, Hannah, and Carson. The six were a source of endless pride and happiness in her life.

Known for her gentle spirit and generous heart, Elaine found great joy in caring for others. She dedicated more than 25 years of her time as a volunteer at Woman’s Hospital, where her compassion and warm presence touched many lives. Helping people and making others feel cared for was simply who she was.

Elaine treasured time with her family. Some of her happiest memories were made vacationing together in Rosemary Beach, surrounded by laughter, sunshine, and the people she loved most.

Elaine will be remembered for her loving nature, her selfless heart, and the way she always put others before herself. She leaves behind a family who adored her and countless friends and loved ones who were blessed to know her.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, John Eldredge Starnes and Bessie Louise Starnes, and her sister, Sara Louise Fister.

She is survived by her husband, George Robert Zollmann; son, George Gregg Zollmann and his wife, Carol; daughter, Amy Elaine LeJeune and her husband Joseph “Kip”; grandchildren, George Benjamin Zollmann, Jack Thomas Zollmann, and Connor Atticus Bonds; and step-grandchildren, Logan Joseph LeJeune, Hannah Yancie LeJeune, and Carson Daniel LeJeune.

Elaine leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion to those she cherished most. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, and all whose lives she touched.
