Elinor Herd

Elinor Avis Herd, a resident of Shreveport, LA, passed away on May 1, 2022. She was 93 years old. Elinor was born in Houston, TX on February 20, 1929, to Melvin and Marie Ransom. She attended Texas State College for Women and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in teaching. She married Ray Herd in Houston, TX on December 26th, 1948. Elinor and Ray moved to Louisiana in 1951. She was a devoted member of St. Luke’s Methodist church in Shreveport, LA.

Elinor is survived by four children, Margaret Anne Robinson, Diana Lynn Leblanc, Lois Marie Gesn, and Charles Ray Herd, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend of many years, Dorothy Nichols.

Elinor is preceded in death by husband Ray Herd and daughter Mary Elizabeth Moseley.

Visitation to be held at First Baptist Church in Sanger TX on May 16, 2022 beginning at 9am until services at 10:30 followed by a graveside service at Bolivar Cemetery in Bolivar, TX.
