Ernest Summerville, Sr.

Ernest Frank Summerville, 88, a native of Elkins West Virginia and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away May 13, 2022 at the Carpenter House.

Frank was born on May 18, 1934 and was a graduate of Elkins High School, after high school he joined the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roswell Spearman Sommerville and Ruth Phares Sommerville of Elkins West Virginia; brothers Roswell Sommerville Jr, Carllee Sommerville; sister, Rev. Venora Hammond.

Frank is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lovelia Price Summerville; his three sons, Michael Frank (Cindy) of Greenwell Springs, Ernest Frank Jr. (Lisa) of Greenwell Springs, and Thomas Ross (Julie) of Baton Rouge; his grandchildren, Angela, Karen Guerin (John), Steven (Cassandra), David, Jacob, Sarah, Sydney, Jackson, Spencer and Ashton; great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Andrew; his siblings, Willard "Bruce" Sommerville (Helen) Moseley, Virginia, Ruth Lynn Schoonover (Gary) of Elkins, West Virginia, Hilda McWilliams Beverly, West Virginia, and Linda Marsh (Don) of Philippi, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Frank's name to St Jude Children Hospital. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guest book.
