Faye Whitfield passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born August 30, 1929, in Barth, Mississippi to Emmitt and Eunice McKnight. She was one of twelve children, which taught her the meaning of family.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was an excellent example of faith to others, right up to and including her passing. She was an active member of Zoar Baptist church and devoted mornings to reading and studying her bible. She loved flowers, plants and definitely had a green thumb, often given plants that others thought would not survive, but with love and care brought them back to life. She also enjoyed word search puzzles and coloring.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Whitfield; her parents; her sisters, Virginia Peters and Shirley Harriman; and her brothers Robert, Ray, Don, Vick and Irwin McKnight. She is survived by her loving children Alice Hollingsworth and husband Rick, Mark Whitfield and his wife Donna and Dana Whitfield and his wife Leah; her beloved grandchildren Amber Lloyd, Daniel Whitfield, Stephen Whitfield and Jesse Whitfield; and great-grandchildren Amelia Lloyd, Asher Lloyd and Leon Whitfield. She is also survived by her sisters Vera Johnson, Jannette Hansen and Carolyn Covington; as well as her brother Richard McKnight.
