Felix Joseph Lavergne, age 87, born August 28, 1935, was called home by his Heavenly Father on October 9, 2022. He began his career as an auto body mechanic in 1953 and continued in this occupation until his retirement. He enjoyed vacations with family and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Laura Ardoin Lavergne; daughters Debra Lavergne and Donna Lavergne; and son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Bonnie Lavergne; four sisters, Gladys Lavergne, Betty Marks, Ethel Wilson and Barbara Roberts; and two brothers, J.D. Lavergne and Jimmie Lavergne.
He was a very special Popie to his six grandchildren, Steven Goff (Rachael), Stacy Goff, Tonya Ballard (Brandon), Travis Lavergne (Nikki), Alison Parrino (Patrick) and Stephen Parrino (Vonda); and 11 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Laura and Adam Goff; Kamryn, Karley and Kenley Ballard; Locke and Knight Lavergne; and Leland, Elizabeth and Jesse Parrino.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Lavergne, Sr. and Louisiana Richard Lavergne; two sisters, Helen Mayeaux and Clorita Brown; and three brothers, Lawrence Lavergne, Jr., Jessie Lavergne, and Connie Lavergne.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pinnacle Hospice who cared for Felix with grace and compassion. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Lana Lavergne Johnson for her caring and selfless assistance during his final days.
Visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, Baton Rouge, LA, 70816 on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon, with recitation of the rosary at 11:30 am.
Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Karl and Travis Lavergne, Steven and Matthew Goff, Brandon Ballard and Wayne Ardoin.
