Felix Luttrell

October 4, 1945 — July 5, 2021

Felix "Lane" Luttrell a resident of Prairieville, Louisiana passed away peacefully in his home on July 5, 2021 surrounded by family and friends whom he loved dearly.

Lane was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 4, 1945 and as a teenager moved with his parents to Wyoming. He loved Wyoming which inspired him to write stories about his youth being a cowboy and working on his friend's ranch.  His humor and love for fun provided him with a lifetime of adventure. He was a Vietnam Vet in the US Navy on USS St. Paul. While in the Navy he served at a Key West Florida base as an Air Traffic Controller.

Flying was a lifelong passion and a few Lessons in a Cessna and an ultralight gave him a spectacular view and another story to write. But, his biggest joy in life was watching his three grandsons growing up and becoming young men. Former X-ray Tech retiring from medical sales he spent time planting gardens, fishing in his back yard pond, and visiting with his neighbors. Neighbor "Lane" was always there for some talk, candy and fun.

He is preceded in death by parents, Felix Crittenden Luttrell and Lillie Mae Nelson Luttrell; and sisters Julia Anne Luttrell and Kemper Faye Luttrell Bornman.

He is survived by wife, Kathy Karnes Luttrell; daughter, Kemper Luttrell Rogers; Son-in Law Jason Rogers; three grandsons, Evan Rogers, Jude Rogers and Nate Rogers; niece, Ann and husband Hal Gorman and many nieces, nephews, a sister- in- law and cousins.

A Military graveside service is pending at this time.

A Special thank you to the doctors and staff at DaVita (HHD) and J.H. Lee Kidney Center (In Center) and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for their special care.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charities. Planting a tree in memory was something Lane always liked to do for others.
